Born January 12, 1896, in Watauga County, North Carolina, he was a son of the former Mary A. King and Jacob Cooke, both of whom preceded him in death.
He married Lora Cooke on July 26, 1914, in Watauga County. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include three children, Coy Cooke, Jr., Rt. 3 Eubank, Mrs. Bill (Wilma) Osborne, Troy, Michigan, and Mrs. Harold (Dorothy) Isaacs, Rt. 3 Somerset; two brothers, Mack Cooke, Eubank, and Clayton Cooke, Nineveh, Indiana; a sister, Mrs. Lela Tyree, Vilas, North Carolina; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Cooke came here from North Carolina. He was a farmer and a member of the Woodstock Baptist Church where he served as treasurer for 19 years.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 2, at the Woodstock Baptist Church with Rev. R. Don Whitehead and Rev. Linville Coldiron officiating.
Burial will be in the Woodstock Cemetery.
