Frances Harris, 87, died March 29, 2011, at Fayette Long Term Care in Fayette, Ala. Services are Friday at 11 a.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery in Fayette. Visitation is today from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ms. Harris was born Nov. 28, 1923, in Fayette, to the late David Henry and Letha Pearl Franks Abernathy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Abner M. Harris.
She is survived by her daughters, Sara Hattaway of Fayette, and Donna Jo Callahan of Millport; sons, Billy Beard of Columbus and Kenneth Beard of Fayette; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
