Mrs. Eliza Baker, aged 82, died this morning at 12:45 o’clock at the Home hospital, death resulting from old age. On July 21 the deceased had a fall, sustaining painful injuries, which hastened her demise. She was born near Harrison, Ohio, February 26, 1825, and moved to Monroe, this county, with her parents in 1829. She was married to Dr. Moses Baker June 6, 1850. She resided at Monroe until 1866 and then moved to Stockwell. Dr. Baker died August 16, 1888. The remains will be taken to Stockwell this morning where the funeral and interment will take place. The deceased is survived by the following children: Mrs Harriet Millis of Stockwell; Mrs. Kate B. Caldwell, city, and Mrs. Anna W. Rogers, of Boston, Mass. Mrs. Baker was well known in this city, having resided here and on the West Side while her children were being educated. Her husband was one of the leading physicians of this county and the family has always enjoyed considerable social prominence. Mrs. Baker was refined and gentle and possessed a character of such care beauty that she was loved and revered by all. She was a woman of high ideals, noble purposes and was a splendid example of American motherhood.
