Martin P. Byrne, 64, of Poolesville, Md., formerly of Owensboro, died Friday, June 15, 2007, at Washington Adventist Hospital in Maryland. He was born Aug. 2, 1942, in Daviess County.

He was an Air Force veteran and enjoyed hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Kalliopi [Schizopolis] Byrne of Poolesville; a daughter, Ellen Byrne and her husband, Kevin, of Knottsville; a son, James Byrne of Owensboro; four grandchildren; five sisters, Sister Mary Ignatius, Stella Kaelin and Martha Pendleton, all of Owensboro, Mildred Dockemeyer of Kokomo, Ind., and Connie McKay of South Bend, Ind.; and a brother, Stephen Byrne of Owensboro.

Services were at Lady of Presentation in Poolesville.

Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

He was the husband of Kalliopi Byrne.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Tuesday June 19 at Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church in Poolesville. Interment will follow in Monocacy cemetery, Beallsville.
