In her roll as wife of John Rosenbaum, she became a well established citizen of the area. She was well cared for in her widowhood and wrote a will a few weeks before her death.

WILL FOR CATHERINE ROSENBALM Know all men by these presents that I Catharine Rosenbalm of the county of Washington and state of Virginia do bequeath to my son Adam one cow & calf and five head of sheep and one bible or the book called the life of Christ. And I do bequeath unto my son Valentine one three year old heifer and one set of hackles and one old baking oven and one set of large fire irons. And I do bequeath unto my daughter Caty VanHuss my saddle & brass kettle and one bed & furniture & one pot rack. And I bequeath unto my granddaughter Susan Widener two beds & furniture and one oven & one pot and five head of sheep two cows and one year old heifer & one fall leaf table. And I do bequeath unto my grand daughter Mary Widener one bed & furniture & two ovens which I want to be left in my son Davis's hands until she become of age or marries. And I do bequeath unto my grandson Elias Widener one cow and her increase in the hands of Absalom Srader until Elias Widener is twenty one years of age. And I do bequeath the balance of my property unto my son David. And I do appoint Valentine Rosenbalm to be Executor to settle my estate, and I do acknowledge this to be my last Will & Testament. Test: mark Robert Houston John Houston John Rosenbalm At a Court held for Washington County the 21st day of December 1830. The last will and testament of Catharine Rosenbalm deceased was exhibited in court and proved by the oath of John Rosenbalm a subscribing withess thereto and ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of Valentine Rosenbalm the executor therein named who took the oath of an executor prescribed by law and entered into and acknowedged his bond in the sum of five hundred dollars with Samuel M. Snodgrass his security conditioned as the law directs. A Certificate is therefore granded him for the probat of the said Will in due form.
