George was the son of John and Catherine (Spraker) Rosenbaum. He grew to adulthood in the wilds of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
He married Catherine Widener before the 1810 census was taken. They were both under 26 years of age with no children. When he died in 1815 his estate was devided three ways. One third to his widow and one third to each of his two sons.
His two sons were;
1. John b-22 Mar 1811, m-Martha Harrell
2. David b-9 Feb 1812, m-Elizabeth Harrell
