Mrs. Alice [Bloxham] Manning, 70, 815 Grand Ave., died about 4 p.m. Thursday at Mary Greeley Hospital where she had been taken Wednesday.
Born May 10, 1890 at Sheldon, she attended business college and did secretarial work. She was appointed postmistress at Sheldon in 1942 and served until 1958.
She and Truman Manning were married April 19, 1958 at Fairmont, Minn, and came to Ames.
She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and the Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, Truman; a daughter, Mrs. Marilynn Landhuis of St. Joseph, Mo., a brother, F.W. Bloxham of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; a sister, Elizabeth Bloxham of Fort Dodge, one grandchild and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from St. John’s Episcopal Church. The Rev. LeRoy Burroughs will officiate. Burial will be at Sheldon.
