A native of the town of Brillion, he was born Mary 21, 1890, a son of the late Henry F. and Anna Bartz Grave. He married Rosalia Ziegler, April 7, 1915 in St. Bartholomew Lutheran Church, Kasson.
Mr. Grave operated the home farm in the town of Brillion until retiring and moving to Brillion in 1969. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Hilbert and was active in church, school and community affairs.
Survivors are his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Vincent (Verna) Meyer, Sheboygan, Mrs. John R. (Gladys) Behnke and Mrs. Kenneth (Bernice) Eichhorst, both of Brillion, and Mrs. Loyal L. (Lenora) Ross, Neenah; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Lora Koerth, Brillion.
Funeral services were held at St. Peter Church, Hilbert, with the Rev. C. A. Raphjen officiating. Burial was in Bluff Cemetery, Brillion.
