Services for Loren L. Ropp, 80, Hillsdale, will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Hillsdale United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery. Visitation is until 4 this afternoon and 7 to 9 tonight at Dailey-Gibson Funeral Home, Port Byron. Memorials may be made to his church, Hillsdale United Methodist. Mr. Ropp was born in Henry County. He married Mary Feaster in 1926 in Kewanee. He was a farmer and had been a seed dealer for CD. Ford & Sons, Geneseo, for 40 years. Mr. Ropp was associated with Couch Pump Co., Grant, Fla, since 1956. He served as a drainage district trustee of the Penny Slough for 49 years; was a member and trustee of Hillsdale Fire Department since 1945; trustee of the church for 53 years; former 4-H club leader; received the Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts in 1956 and was a member of the Rock Island County Farm Bureau since the 1920s. Survivors include the widow; sons Darrell, Stillman Valley, Arlan, Cocoa, Fla., Larry, Geneseo, and William, Berrien Springs, Mich.; eight grandchildren; sisters , Josephine Feaster and Eloise Boardman, both of Hillsdale, and a brother, Leslie, Milledgeville.
