Emery Man Accorded Honors on 80th Birthday Anniversary. Emery—J. Peter Nielsen was honored recently on his 80th birthday. Mr. Nielsen was born December 9, 1876, in Denmark, a son of Niels Christian and Johanna Marie Larsen Nielsen. He came to America at the age of two. He married Annie Christensen October 13, 1897. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She died 11 years ago. He has been a farmer and a stockman, and a mail driver, and is a High Priest in the Church. He has three sons, and three daughters. He also has 23 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Monday services conducted for John Nielsen—John P. Nielsen, 83, died Friday, February 19, at 1 a.m. in a Provo hospital of natural causes. Born December 9, 1876 in Denmark to Niels Christian and Johanna Marie Larsen Nielse; He married Annie Christensen in the Manti LDS Temple. She died in 1945. Survivors include sons and daughters, 23 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; brother, sister, half-sisters and a step-sister. Funeral rites were conducted Monday at 1 p.m. in the Emery ward chapel. Remains were viewed in the Emery Relief Society room Monday prior to the funeral. Burial was made in the Emery cemetery, under the direction of Fausett funeral Home. Services conducted by Rellus Christiansen, included musical numbers by the choir and a vocal solo by Jim Peacock. Speakers included Earl Christensen, Bishop Floyd Brinkerhoff, Gerald L. Olsen, and a tribute by Rose Olsen written by Myrtle Sorensen. An organ solo was given by Jean Christiansen, and Bertha Christensen and Leola Guymon sang a duet. Prayers were by Rue Ware and Bryon Peacock, and the grave was dedicated by Merrill Allred.
