Services for Ioma W. Smith, age 94, formerly of Dublin, will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 22, 2011 in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Bethsaida Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Curtis Scott will officiate. She died Sunday, March 20, 2011.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Smith; parents, Wiley Weehunt and Lily Black Weehunt; daughter, Dorothy Ussery; and son, Tommy Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethsaida Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters, Shirley Tomlinson, Delaine Bedingfield, both of Dublin, Bernice Hodges (Bubba), of Carlton; sons, Roger Smith (Pat), of Rockledge, Danny Smith (Donna), of Dexter; twenty-four grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Jeff Smith, Brian Smith, Mike Newman, Doyle Ussery Jr., Kevin Dixon and Dwayne Bedingfield will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
