Geneva Weehunt Dykes of Dudley passed away this morning Nov 3,2017 at Shamrock Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center in Dublin, Ga. She was born in Jefferson, Ga on Feb 24 1927 to the late Wiley Alexander and Lillie Black Weehunt. Graveside services are to be held at Bethsaida Baptist Church Cemetery in Dublin Nov 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Mr. Jack Wood will officiate. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Edward Dykes and 2 sons, Randall Bruce and Larry Weehunt. Siblings: Jessie Mae Adams, Louie (Ester Ioma) Smith, Geraldine Fowler, James Milton Osborn Weehunt, Julian Weehunt, Wilma Roach, and Jean Jones preceded her in death. Geneva was a homemaker. In 1944, during WWII, she was a welder for Southeastern Ship Building Corporation in Savannah, Ga. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Eastman, Ga. Geneva is survived by her daughter, Phyllis G (Jack) Wood of Montrose, a sister, Fay Martin of Warner Robins, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren & 5 great great grandchildren. Additional info: Geneva was named after her Uncle Ernest Black.
