Following a week's illness with paralysis and pneumonia, Mrs. Phoebe Ewbank, age 78, died at her home, 1200 E Clinton St, yesterday morning @ 2:15 o'clock. Mrs Ewbank had suffered failing health for several years and it was due to her weakened condition that she contracted the disease which was responsible for her death.

Phoebe Norris Ewbank was the daughter of Abraham and mary Norris and was born on a farm two and one half miles east of this city on Oct 4 1843. On Nov 9 1871, she was married to Edward Ewbank and the couple have made their home in nd near Frankfort since that time.

Mrs Ewbank had been a cripple for twenty-one years preceding her death and during the last two years has been practically an invalid. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Episcopal church and was prominent in church affairs during her active life. It was on November 3 of last year that the aged couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Besides her husband she is survived by one son, W D Ewbank, one daughter, Mrs Jensie Leader, and one sister, Marie E Wilson, who is the last of a family of eleven children. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Ruth, Margaret, Robert, and Russel Ewbank and Rose Leader.

Funeral services will be held from the home at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon with the Rev Geo M Francis in charge. Interment will be made in the IOOF cemetery.
