Lucille Edwards was born December 8, 1925 in Braggs, OK, the daughter of Ross and Florence Benge. Lucille married Troy Edwards in Washington while he was serving his country in the U. S. Army. They were married for over 65 years before his death on May 4, 2010. Lucille and Troy lived on a farm in Fort Gibson for 50 years and prior to that lived in Braggs. Lucille had resided at the Fort Gibson Nursing Home for the past four years. Prior to retirement, Lucille was a cashier at Safeway Groceries and had the name of being the speediest checker. She always had a smile for her customers. After retirement, Lucille loved to go to garage and estate sales where she searched for antiques that she collected. She was very proud of her possessions. Survivors include two daughters, Coneil Lafarlette of Tulsa and Carol Madison of Palm Desert, CA; granddaughter, Tommi Inkelaar and husband, Gil, of Tulsa; great-grandson, Anthony Inkelaar of Tulsa; sisters, Louise Biggs of Foyil, Judy Allison of Hulbert, Saundra Simmons of Tulsa; brothers, Theodore Benge of Spearman, TX, Joe Benge of Norwood and Bill Benge of Talala. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Troy; parents, Ross and Florence Benge; and one sister, Jimmie Huff. Services for Lucille will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, March 21, 2011 at South Bethel Cemetery in Braggs, OK, with Anthony Inkelaar officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Fort Gibson.
