Saundra Kay Simmons was born on April 1, 1943, in Hulbert, Oklahoma to Thomas Ross Benge and Florence (Hutchens) Benge. She passed from this life on Monday, May 30, 2022, at her home in Collinsville, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years.

Saundra was raised and educated in Hulbert, but later earned her GED from Owasso High School. She was married on August 19, 1957, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to R.J. Simmons. Saundra spent most of her working life in the home, raising her two children. In her spare time, she enjoyed a variety of past times such as traveling, camping, attending Blue Grass festivals, square dancing, and reading.

Those she leaves behind, who hold many cherished memories include:

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ross and Florence, husband, R.J., two brothers, Theodore and Joe, and four sisters, Lucille, Louise, Jimmy, and Joanne.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2022, at the New Home Chapel at New Home Cemetery in Peggs, Oklahoma. There will be a Celebration of Life Picnic at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at New Home Cemetery.
