Orville B. Eppard, 78, of Route 3, Elkton, died Sunday morning at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

He was born January 2, 1914, in Rockingham County, and was the son of the late John A. and Lola Hensley Eppard.

He was a member of Furnace United Methodist Church. He was retired from Bond Lumber Co.

In 1938 he married the former Clara Myrtle Meadows, who survives.

Also surviving are a sister, Vella Smith of Elkton; and a brother, Lewis Eppard of Elkton; a granddaughter, Debbie Mowbray of Charlottesville.

Mr. Eppard was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosalie Eppard Sprouse.

The funeral will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, at Furnace United Methodist Church on Naked Creek. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens, near Harrisonburg. The Revs. Michael Frank and Les Trail will officiate.

The body is at Kyger & Trobaugh Funeral Home in Elkton.
The family will receive friends anytime at home.
