Irene moved from Silverton, Oregon in her late teens to Tacoma, where she met her husband Bill. After marrying, she and Bill spent the rest of their lives as residents of Milton, WA. She took great pride in being a homemaker, as her home and family were the center of her life. She enjoyed being a member of the Milton Breakfast Club for 50 years.
She is survived by her son Rod (JoAnn) and their children, Brenda (Dave) Gasper, Kelly (Matt) Sheehy; her son William R. Blauvelt's children Randi and Robert (Sonja) Blauvelt and their mother Cathy Blauvelt. She found great joy in her three great-grandchildren, Megan and Billy Blauvelt and Logan Gasper. She is also survived by her sister Connie (Dick) Redlin, her brother George (Alma) Reed and many nieces and nephews and special friends.
Besides her husband, William W. Blauvelt, she was preceded in death by her parents; son, William R. Blauvelt; sisters Frankie and Faye; and brothers Fred and James. There will be a funeral service on Thursday, March 17, 2005 at Fox Island Chapel on Echo Bay at 1:00 P.M. Arrangements are under the direction of Piper-Morley-Mellinger Funeral Home, Tacoma, Washington 253-472-3353. Irene will be missed by all of her family and friends.
