TIRZAH LEAVITT, PIONEER, DEAD

Tirzah C. Leavitt, 75, widow of Chauncey L. Leavitt, died Friday at her home, 660 Twelfth, after a short illness. Born in Ogden Aug. 23, 1863, to Elisha Wells and Jane
McGarry Chase, she had been a lifelong resident of this city. She was married to Mr. Leavitt here in 1884. He died in November, 1936.
Surviving are the following sons and daughters: Lewis C., Henry and Lawrence N. Leavitt, Mrs. G., L. Amidan and Mrs. A. W. Amidan, all of Ogden; Mrs. S. H. Knighton of McGill, Nev., and Mrs. Charles P. Carlson of Salt Lake City; 20 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters: Ezra and James Chase and Mrs. A. T. Wood of Ogden; Ernest Chase of St. Anthony, Idaho; Mrs. J. R. Morton of Logan and Mrs. J. W. Derkin of Grand Junction, Colo.
Rites will be conducted Sunday at two p. m. in Larkin & Sons' funeral chapel where friends may call this afternoon and evening and Sunday until time of service. Interment
will be in Ogden city cemetery.
