Jane Marie Hanson, 61, died September 20 1984 of cancer at Western Manor Nursing Home in Billings, MT.
She was born August 23, 1923, in Big Timber, MT, a daughter of James and Ansof Elder. She spent her early childhood on the Winnecook Ranch east of Harlowton and in 1927 moved with her parents to a ranch east of Melville. Jane attended Briley Grade School and graduated from Shawmut High School. On January 1, 1946, she married Art Hanson who ranched east of Melville.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Survivors include her mother, Ansof Hanson of Melville a son Steve Hanson of Santa Paula, CA; two sisters, Mrs. Howard (Nora) Hanson of Big Timber, MT and Doris Elder of Valley Nursing Home in Billings; a half-brother, James Hanson of Melville; three step-brothers and two step-sisters.
Services were held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Big Timber Lutheran Church with Pastor Allen Haugen officiating. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Bill Sargent, Kenneth Fjare, Kermit Anderson, Lloyd Berg, Henry DeCock, and John DeCock. Honorary bearers were all of her friends.
