He was a former deacon at St. Andrews Baptist Church in Columbia, S.C. Mr. Jones was an architect his entire life and attended Georgia Tech.
Survivors include two sons, Jack Jones of Santa Cruz, Calif., Jerry P. Jones of Marietta; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at noon on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006 at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home, Marietta with the Rev. Vernon Crosby and the Rev. Bryan Pillsbury officiating.
Burial will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 24, 2006, at Eastside Cemetery, Statesboro.
