Born in Rineck,near Rittersbach, where he was baptized as the illegitimate son of Johanna Bauer ," Wilhelm Gustav Bauer". Immigrated to US in 1850, shortly after his birth, with his parents and older sister. His parents married in Boston that year.. Worked as a cooper alongside his brothers in his father Stephan's cooperage on Champney St, So. Boston. Lifelong resident of South Boston. Married(1)Emma Rowena Delano (1852-1882) in 1872.Four children by first wife (Mabel, George, Emma, Charlotte) and several by second wife, Adelia Torpey (Elizabeth Annie is the only one who survived infancy).Died of stomach cancer at Carney Hospital, Dorchester.

There is no stone marker on this grave.

Gravesite Details

The cemetery is open by appt. only and on Memorial Day. The grounds were in poor condition when I saw it in 2015.
