Heinrich Hamm with his 1st wife and 3 children arrived in America 24 Aug 1866, on the ship "Columbus". Henry came to America specifically to teach in the Concordia Lutheran Day-school. His 8 children,educated in Concordia, resulted in 3 Lutheran ministers,his daughters were both teachers, 1 dentist and 1 physician. Upon his retirement in 1899, with his wife, Clara Louise, he moved to Sweet Springs, MO, where they resided until their deaths.
