Death at Point Isabel
Died at Point Isabel, at half past twelve last night, Harry Broughton, aged over seventy years. The deceased had resided a good many years at Point Isabel, being a seafaring man. He was very well known both here and at the Point. Mr. Broughton was engineer on the steamer Santiago at the time she was wrecked, which occurred about eight years ago on the coast, about twelve miles below the mouth of the Rio Grande. He leaves a family residing at Point Isabel who have the sympathy of many friends in their bereavement. The funeral took place at the Point today, Rev. W.C.C. Foster, pastor of the Presbyterian church of Brownsville, going down this morning to conduct the services.
