Margaret Minerva Storey, the eldest daughter of Francis Porter Storey and the former Manerva Jane Fryar, was born on January 8th 1862 in Ripley, Tippah County, Mississippi. Born during the Civil War, Margaret's father served in the 7th Regiment of the Mississippi Cavalry, raising to the rank of Captain by wars end.

During Margaret's youth, she met Allen Grey Bell, whose mother had died shortly after his birth and came to live with his uncle and aunt, Rev. W. A. and Peggy Bell Gray in Ripley. On November 12th 1879 at the age of 18, Margaret married Allen, son of William Montgomery Bell and the later Margaret Nason [Milling] Bell. They would have nine children:

William Francis (1885 – 1938)
Dora Pearl (1888 – 1976)
Howard Graham "Gray" (1889 – 1922)
Dudley Joseph (1892 – 1967)

Allen George (1900 – 1982)

Margaret Minerva [Storey] Bell departed this life at the young age of 47 on April 14th 1909. She was laid to rest near her parents in English Cemetery Red River County, Texas.
