DORA PEARL PITTMAN
March 31, 1888 ~ April 29, 1976

Dora P. Pittman, 88, Shawnee, died Thursday in an Enid hospital.

Born March 31, 1888, in Ripley, Miss., she spent her early years in Clarksville, Tex., being married to the late C. E. Pittman in Wynona, Tex., in 1908.

The Pittmans moved to Idabel in 1910, where C. E. Pittman was a teacher in McCurtain County schools for more than 40 years. He died in 1959. Mrs. Pittman moved from Idabel to Shawnee in 1965. She was a member of the Baptist church.

Surviving are three sons, D. L. Pittman of Owens, Tex., E. L. Pittman of Louisburg, N. C., and Charles Pittman of Indiahoma; three daughters, Mrs. T. Hollis Epton of Enid, Mrs. George Henderson of Canadian, Tex. and Mrs. James F. Kirkendall of Liberty, Mo.; one brother, Allen Bell of Wichita Falls, Tex.; one sister, Mary Rosser of Duncan; 14 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.

Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Saturday in the First Baptist Church of Idabel, with the Rev. T. Hollis Epton, assisted by the Rev. James F. Kirkendall, officiating.

Arrangements and burial in the Denison Cemetery are under the direction of Norwood-Welch Funeral Home.
