Died in His Chair
Oliver Noe, of Jackson Township, victim of Heart Disease.
Oliver Noe, a well know resident of Chester township, Wells county, died of heart disease at his home three miles southeast of Mt. Zion Sunday evening. Death came entirely unexpected as Mr. Noe was apparently in hood health up to within a half hour of his death. He had attended Sunday school in the afternoon and served as superintendent. After going home he changed his clothes preparatory to doing the evening work about the farm. His wife is sick and he stepped into her room to speak to her. She noticed that he was in pain and asked what the matter was. He replied that his heart was hurting him. He walked over to the window and stood there a few minutes. Mrs. Noe again asked how he was feeling and he replied that he had difficulty about breathing. These were the last words he spoke. Turning away from the window he sat down by his wife's side. A messenger was sent to Mt. Zion for Dr. Morris but before the physician arrived the man was dead. He was nearly fifty-five. years old.
The shock to his wife was so great that it is feared she cannot recover. She had been sick for several weeks and was in a very much weakened condition.
The funeral was held near Montpelier Tuesday, and the burial was in the Miller cemetery

A Resident Of Jackson Township Dropped Dead
Oliver Noe, a resident of Jackson township, dropped dead in his barn yard Sunday afternoon, his death being due to heart disease. Noe is a man of 50 years of age and has been apparently enjoying the very best of health. A telephone message from Keystone Monday morning stating that Sunday morning Noe went to church as usual. He came home apparently feeling as well as ever and in the afternoon went out for the purpose of doing some little chore.
Without warning he fell over and died instantly. Noe leaves a wife and two children, a boy and a girl. His wife has been at the point of death all winter, she being a sufferer from intestinal tumors and her life even now being despaired of. The shock of her husband's death has completely prostrated her and it is feared that she, too, will not long survive.
