He was born on Feb. 22, 1932, in Stanley, and was a son of the late Elmer Lee and Reda Mae Lucas Pence.
On Oct. 27, 1951, he married Ruby M. Cubbage, who survives.
He is also survived by two daughters, Sandra A. Hottel and husband, Robert, of Harrisonburg, and Rose M. Crabtree and husband, Donald, of Orange; two sons, Steven A. Pence of Stanley and Dennis M. Pence and wife, Karen, of Luray; three sisters, Nellie M. Strauss of Oregon, Delores E. Presgraves of Luray, and Mary E. Alger of Stanley; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Two sisters, Ruby Stokes and Rose Marie Housden, two brothers, Thomas E. Pence and Leonard Haskell Pence, are predeceased.
He was pastor of the Blue Ridge Pentecostal Church in Dovel Hollow near Stanley almost 40 years. He also was a retired construction foreman.
Aldine was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved gardening and was an avid hunter. He will be greatly missed by all.
The Revs. Jimmy Pittman, Jack Campbell and Tony Cubbage will conduct a funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday at Blue Ridge Pentecostal Church. Burial will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery near Luray.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at the church. Friends may call at any time.
