She was born in Page County on September 8, 1925 and was the daughter of the late Elmer and Rita Lucas Pence Broyles.
Mrs. Housden recently worked as a door greeter at Wal-Mart in Harrisonburg.
She was a member of the Shenandoah Pentecostal Holiness Church.
On December 27, 1944, she married Elmer Elwood Housden, who preceded her in death on September 19, 2001.
She is survived by two daughters, Vicki Dinges and husband Lee, and Sherri Gray and husband Larry, all of Stanley; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Alger of Stanley, Nellie Strauss of Oregon and Delores Presgraves of Luray and two brothers, Aldine Pence and Bill Pence, both of Stanley.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Elwood Lee Housden and Danny Allen Housden; a brother, Haskel Pence; and a sister, Ruby Stokes.
Burial at Rest Haven Cemetery.
