Joseph W. Hoke, 91, of 248 Village Drive, Lebanon, died Friday, May 8, 1992 in the Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of the late Catherine A. Spangler Allwein Hoke.
Born in North Cornwall Township, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary Merkey Hoke. He retired in 1965 after 50 years of service with the Bethlehem Steel Corp. He was a member of Rocherty United Methodist Church.
Surviving are children Elizabeth G., wife of Arden M. Blouch, Joan M. Hoke, Joseph C. Hoke Jr., and Robert P. Hoke, all of Lebanon, Catherine M., wife of R. Larry Wright, Hummelstown, Mary E., wife of Van S. Miller II, Myerstown, Helen I., wife of Simon Ruhl, Washington, and Barbara A., wife of Edward Resh, Pequea; 36 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; sisters Cora Brightbill and Edith Rhode, both of Lebanon; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Harry S. Light, brothers Paul M. Hoke, Ralph J. Hoke and Ammon B. Hoke; and sisters Mabel Birch, Anna Mountz and Elva Light.
