Joseph C. "Big Joe" Hoke, Jr., 81, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020 in WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital.
He was born April 08, 1938 in Lebanon to the late Joseph C., Sr. and Catherine A. (Spangler) Hoke.
Big Joe was a graduate of Cornwall High School, Class of 1956 and Auctioneer School.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Big Joe married Fannie S. Smith in April 1958.
He worked for Bethlehem Steel Corporation in the Heavy - Duty Department for twenty-three years.
Big Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, being an auctioneer for forty-seven years, socializing, butchering - as he was known as the "Master Butcher," telling jokes, farming, running his Farmall and Wheel Horse tractors, and spending time with his family and his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Elizabeth Blouch and Joan Hoke; and his brother: Harry Hoke.
Big Joe is survived by his wife of sixty-two years: Fannie S. (Smith) Hoke; his daughter: Renee H. (Rick) Sine of Elizabethtown; his sons: Joseph C. (Donna) Hoke III of Lebanon, John H. Hoke of Lebanon, and Jason C. (Debra) Hoke of Rexmont; his granddaughters: Sarah and Lyndsy; his grandsons: Tristan, Brett, Clayton, Travis, and Cody; his step-granddaughter: Anika; his step-grandson: Alex; his eight great-grandchildren; his sisters: Barbara Resh of Lancaster, Mary Emma Miller of Palmyra, Catherine Wright of Hummelstown, and Helen Ruhl of Washington; his brother: Robert Hoke of Lebanon; his nieces and nephews; and, his cousins.
A Viewing will be held from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 in Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory Incorporated, 618 E. Main Street, Annville. Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 PM.
Interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 01:00 PM.
