MARGARET (MYERS) CLARK COMMONS
Margaret Myers was the fifth of nine children born to Col. Andrew and Mary (Lloyd) Myers. She was born in 1824 Pickaway County, Ohio. The 1909 obituary of her brother, William Perry Myers, tells the family lived near Tarlton, Pickaway County, Ohio. A few years later they moved to Wayne County, Indiana and in 1836 they moved again, overland (trip occupying one month), to New Boston, Mercer County, Illinois. Margaret would have been about ten years old when the family moved to Illinois.

MARAGRET'S MARRIAGES
She was married first to James Clark on 3/7/1844 in New Boston, Mercer County, Illinois. Margaret and James had one child, Ida Caroline Clark, born 1/1/1845 in New Boston, IL.

James died sometime between 1845 and 1850, as Margaret is widowed and she and Ida are living with her parents in the 1850 census.

Margaret's second marriage was to a widower named Enos Commons. They were married on 9/28/1852 in New Boston, Mercer County, Illinois.

Enos, and son's, Nathan and Jasper Commons went to Harvey County, Kansas, about 1871, along with other Mercer County families in the "Prouty Wagon Train".

MARGARET'S DAUGHTER IDA
Margaret's daughter, Ida Clark married Franklin Andrew Prouty, son of Mary Lucia (Stone) and Amos Prouty. They were married on 9/14/1865 in Mercer County, Illinois and went to Kansas with the Prouty family as well. Some of the families stayed in Kansas, while others moved onto Oregon. Franklin Andrew Prouty was b. IL 2/1/1846 - d. Harvey County, Kansas on 5/4/1929. Ida Clark Prouty died in KS 12/15/1889. They are buried in the Greenwood Cemetery in Newton, Harvey County, Kansas.
