Funeral Services for Paul Patrick Benoit will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 14, 2006 at First United Methodist Church of Pineville with Reverends Henry Blount and Clay Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Ball. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.

Paul Patrick Benoit age 60, of Tioga entered eternal rest Wednesday, August 9, 2006 in Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital, Alexandria.

He was born in Carencro and he was a member of First United Methodist Church of Pineville. He was retired from the Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant and was also retired from the V.A. Medical Center as a physician's assistant. He was instrumental in formulation, introduction and passage of The Louisiana Physician assistant act of 1977 and was the First President of the Louisiana academy of Physicians assistants in 1978. Paul was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, National Order of Trench Rats, Adjutant of the Central Louisiana Chapter 7 of the Disabled American Veteran, Past Commander of the Louisiana Disabled American Veteran. He was an avid fisherman and loved riding his Harley motorcycle.

He is preceded in death by his parents Appolenaire and Anita Benoit and one sister, Ozea Guidry and her husband Curlis.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Vicki Brock Benoit of Tioga; two daughters, Jennifer "Muffin" Benoit of Pineville and Anita "Chrissy" Benoit of Pineville; one brother, Levanis Benoit and his wife Theresa of Lafayette; one sister, Alice Joyce Credeur and her husband Lessin of Lafayette; two grandchildren, P. J. Benoit and Khrystyn Benoit.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 13, 2006 from 5 until 10 p.m. at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville and Monday, August 14, 2006 from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Pineville
