Anna "Ann" Elizabeth Samples Morrow departed from this life on February 25, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Robert Leslie and Addie Lou Riddle Samples being born on December 10, 1918.

Ann was a graduate of Shelbyville High School in 1936 where she was active on the Girl's Basketball team and various other clubs. After high school, she attended Bryant and Stratton Business School in Louisville. Ann was married to Gilbert S. Morrow on February 28, 1942. During World War II, Ann made tracer bullets for the war effort. Gilbert served in the U. S. Army for 5 years. After the war ended they became the parents of their only child, Peggy Morrow Jones.

Ann was a member of Shelbyville First Baptist Church.

Her husband, Gilbert Morrow preceded her in death by 30 years; also preceding her in death were her brothers, Grover Everett and Charles Samples, sisters, Stella Cates, Nora "Toots" Tinsley, Carrie Baskett and Dorothy Coffman.

She is survived by her daughter, Peg Jones (Eric), Morehead, grandchildren, Daniele Cornett Hunter, Lexington; Rob Gillan Cornett of Morehead; sisters, Lucille Samples Nichols and Violet Samples Rice of Shelbyville.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 28th at the Shannon Funeral Home. Visitation will be after 2:00-5:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Morehead, Shelbyville First Baptist Church or First Baptist Church of Morehead.
