Evert W. Verneman Sr., 51, former Muncie resident, died at Doctor's Hospital in Los Angeles Thursday of an apparent heart attack. A veteran of World War II in the Army, Mr. Verneman was former employed at Warner Gear and Chevrolet-Muncie as a machinist. He resided in Muncie until 1965 when he moved to California.

Surviving are his wife, Mary; three daughters, Mrs. Sally Savage, and Miss Ila Verneman, both of California, and Miss Rose Verneman, Muncie; one son, Evert W., Jr., California; his mother, Mrs. Hearld Verneman, Muncie; two brothers, Hearld Verneman, Jr., Muncie, and Delmer Verneman, Winchester; three sisters, Mrs. William R. Wright, Yorktown, Mrs. Lyle Price, Jamestown, Tenn., and Mrs. William P. Montgomery, Muncie; and three grandchildren.

Services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in Parson Mortuary with Rev. George Hemmingsen officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory. Friends may call at the mortuary 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday and prior to services on Tuesday.
