William Dillard Foster, 64, of Allardt, passed away Friday afternoon, April 18, 1986, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Nashville, following a lingering illness.

Mr. Foster was the son of the late John Marion Foster and the late Rachel Phillips Foster, and was also preceded in death by one infant daughter, D. Ann Foster; one infant son, David Foster; two sisters: Stella Phillips and Geneva Evans; and two grandsons: Johnny Ray Day and Donald Foster, Jr. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II, and a member of the Paint Rock Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Hulda Foster of Allardt; six daughters: Mrs. Jay W. (Phillips) Bouldin of Jonesboro, Ga., Mrs. Robert (Patsy) Keeler of Chatsworth, Ga., Mrs. Ronnie (Diane) Hodges of Oneida, Mrs. Sam C. (Joyce) Harrell, Jr. of Knoxville, Mrs. Russell (Doris) Mace of Panama City, Fla., and Mrs. Gary Lee (Georgia) Jones of Helenwood; five sons: Lewis Foster of Salt Lake City, Utah, Howard Foster of Cisco, Ga., Fred W. Foster and Donald Lee Foster, both of Chatsworth, Ga., and Luke Foster of Allardt; one brother, John Marion Foster of Oneida; 21 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, April 21, at West-Murley Funeral Home, with Rev. James E. Marcum officiating. The Segal Phillips Family sang. Burial followed in the Foster Cemetery in the Paint Rock community. Oneida American Legion Post #136 was in charge of full military honors at the graveside. Pallbearers were: Daniel Foster, Bud Jeffers, Glen Jeffers, Rev. Johnny Jeffers, Emanuel Phillips, and Wade Thorne. West-Murley Funeral Home in Oneida was in charge of local arrangements.
