He was born in Herkimer and married Gertrude Leon in 1916 in Little Falls. She died in 1966.
Mr. Vogel was a member of the Herkimer Baptist Church, Royal Arcanum and was active in valley Senior Citizen groups.
He leaves two sons, Carl F. Vogel, of Herkimer and Charles W. Vogel of Ilion.
The funeral will be at 1:30 Wednesday from the Graves Applegate Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Cemetery, Herkimer.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 tonight
