AMMA HERTZLER
---Mrs. Amma Hertzler, 80, a lifelong resident of Macon County, died Sunday morning at 4:00. She had been in failing health for several years.
---Mrs. Hertzler was born February 21, 1884 in Macon County, the daughter of John and Joella (Graves) Carpenter.
---She was married December 29, 1901, to William E. Hertzler. They lived on a farm near Elmer until 1932 when they moved to Elmer. Mr. Hertzler died in 1949 and in the Spring of 1954 Mrs. Hertzler moved to La Plata. She was a lifelong member of the Moore's Chapel Christian Church.
---She is survived by one son, J.L. Hertzler and one daughter, Mrs. Jim (Esther) Rowan, both of La Plata; two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.
---Services were at 2 p.m. at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde McCollum of South Gifford officiating. Special music was by Mrs. Raymond Berry. Interment was in the La Plata Cemetery.
---Casket bearers were Claire Johnson, Hollis Saffell, Harry Fletcher, Edwin Mott, Manford Robinson and Clay Franks.
