Dr. George was son of Jacob Bushong and Mary (Headrick) Bushong and husband of Pearl Eagle Bushong. He graduated from the College of Medicine in Louisville, Ky in June 1897 with a degree of MD. and a degree in pharmacy. He and his wife were blessed with 5 children. Dr. George E. Bushong, J. E.,Randall Bushong, Dr. Corrine Bushong and Mrs I. L. Williams, and a brother W. D. Bushong. He was a member of the Church of Christ, and a thirty-second degree Mason.
