SERVICES SET FOR FORMER COUNCILMAN ADAMS
Former Selma City Councilman Grady Earl Adams, 81, died Wednesday, July 16, 1997 at his home.
Services are at 3 p.m. Friday, July 18, at the Chapel of Lawerence Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Adams and Dr. Cecil Williamson officiating. Burial will follow in the New Live Oak Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Adams served on the Selma City Council from 1968-1972.
He was born in Wilton in 1916, but grew up in Selma and was married in 1940.
Mr. Adams served with the Army Air Corp in the European Theater during World War II, then returned to Selma and spent many years in the grocery business. He worked 19 years with Liberty National Life insureance Company before retiring in 1981. He was employed with the Selma Cemetery Department at the time of his death.
