VENUS - Mrs. Bertha Hufnagel, 84, Erie, former Venus resident, died Saturday following a brief illness. She was the widow of Augustin H. Hufnagel.
Born at Venus March 29, 1880, she was a daughter of Michael and Sarah Wolfe Goodman.
Mr. Hufnagel died in 1952.
She had made her home in Erie for the past 45 years and was a member of St. Patrick Church in Erie.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Harry (Myrtle) Johnson of Oil City and Mrs. Guy Cochran of Rouseville: three brothers, Warren Goodman of Venus, Lawrence Goodman of Bradford and Donald Goodman of Saegertown. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Removal was made to the Faller Funeral Home in Fryburg, where friends may call after noon today.
High mass of requiem will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Michael Church, Fryburg with Msgr. Francis Theobald, pastor as celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Michael Church Cemetery, Fryburg.
