Obit from The Bremen Enquirer, May 2, 1912 -
Philip Manges, Sr. a resident of this vicinity for the past 67 yrs, died last night at the home of his son Philip, three miles north of Bremen at the age of 81 years and two months. Death resulted directly from gangrene in one foot, added to the frailty of age. The funeral will be held Saturday in Grace U. B. Church, leavin the residence at 10 o'clock. Mr. Manges was born in Germany and came to this country as a child. After living in Tuscarawas County for some time, he came here in 1845 and resided here ever since. Two years or so ago he suffered two slight strokes of paralysis, but appeared to recover from therm. He was formerly a member of Dunkard church.
