☆~ VETERAN, WORLD WAR II (1939-1945) ~☆

Son of Ernest Kistler and Hilda May Erickson.

Jack W. Kistler, 62 of Holstein, died Wednesday, April 29 in his home. He was born in Holstein, August 16, 1924 and graduated from Holstein High School in 1942.

He joined the U S Army and served in Okinawa during World War II.

He married Lois Aufdenkamp, on June 6, 1948 in Omaha, Nebraska.

He worked for Vontz Gravel Co in Omaha and worked for Pittz Service in Holstein for 10 years. He then worked for Sperry New Holland in Grand Island until his retirement, December 31, 1983.He was a member of St Paul Lutheran Church in Holstein and the American Legion Post #305.

Services were held Saturday, May 2 at St Paul's Lutheran Church in Holstein with the Rev Allen Konrad officiating. Organist was Mrs Perle Koch with congregational singing. Pallbearers were Walter Eckhardt, Clarence Goelz, Albert Granstrom, Kenneth Hansen, Delvin Karr and Leland Shaw.

Burial with military rites provided by the Holstein American Legion Post #305 was in the Holstein City Cemetery.

Survivors are his wife Lois of Holstein, three sons, Bradford of Lincoln, Randall of Woodland, California and Thayne of Beaumont, Texas; five grandchildren, two sisters, Lucille Teresi of Omaha and Mrs Todd (Dorothy) Streshly of Oroville, California.Jackson-Wilson Funeral Home in Kenesaw was in charge of arrangements.
