Bradford E. (Brad) Kistler, 63, of Lincoln, died surrounded by his family in the home he built for them on Wednesday, May 9, 2012. Brad was an attorney at Kinsey, Rowe, Becker and Kistler, the law firm he helped found in 1990. Born in Hastings, on January 7, 1949 to Jack and Lois (Aufdenkamp) Kistler, Brad was one of the infamous Kistler Boys of Holstein, Nebraska. Brad graduated from the University of Nebraska and the University of Nebraska School of Law. A member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Brad bled Husker Red and went to almost every home football game for 40 years.

Brad lived for his family, his friends, and his work. Dedicated to bettering his community and his profession, Brad was a member of the Nebraska Motor Carriers Association and was their 2000 Man of the Year, a member of the Lincoln Transportation Club, member of the Lincoln Jaycees, member and past president of the Executive Club of Lincoln, member and past president of the Sowers Club of Lincoln, and a member, past local and state president, and 30 year board member of the Association for Retarded Citizens (ARC).

Brad married Linda Clark of Omaha on May 30, 1970. Linda, his wife of nearly 42 years, survives him along with their sons, Scott Kistler and Mike Kistler; daughter, Corrie Kistler, all of Lincoln; and daughter, Elizabeth Kistler Coulson and her husband, Gary Coulson, of Chicago, Ill. He leaves behind a beloved granddaughter, Samantha; and two brothers, Randall of Woodland Hills, Calif. and Thayne (Brenda) of Port Arthur, Texas; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation at Butherus, Maser and Love Funeral Home, 4040 A St., Lincoln on Friday, May 11, after 5 p.m. A Rosary will be said for Brad, a faithful Catholic, at Cathedral of the Risen Christ on Sunday, May 13, at 3 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial to be held at the Cathedral of the Risen Christ on Monday, May 14, at 11 am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lincoln.

Brad was dedicated to helping people with developmental disabilities live full and productive lives. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request memorials to The Association for Retarded Citizens of Lincoln, 5609 S. 49th St., Suite 5, Lincoln, NE 68516.
