Rhoda was born on March 1, 1800 in Palmyra, Wayne County, New York to Andrew Jonathan and Sally Millet. She married William Lyon on March 22 1815 in Ontario, Wayne Co., New York.
William and Rhoda had six children: Isaac Perry, Elizabeth (Betsey), Roxanne Alma (Roxy), Horace B.*, Mary E. and Rufus M. They emigrated with their children to Illinois some time after 1939. Rhoda died on March 23, 1859.

*Horace B. Lyon is the same person as Horace B. Lyons. Family story is that Horace got in a terrible fight with his father, ending with Horace adding an 's' to his surname.
