Funeral for Mother Laura P. Jolly, 73, of Decatur will be Thursday at noon at Mount Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Mooresville with the Rev. James Miller Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery with Sharpley Funeral Home directing. The body will be in the church one hour before the service.
Mrs. Jolly died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born Oct. 14, 1928, to Egbert Peebles Sr. and Laura Miller Peebles. She was a member of Mount Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church and served on the mother's board. She was the mother of the late Thomas Jerry Jolly Jr. and the sister of the late Ida Fletcher, Rebecca Massey and Matilda Bradley.
Survivors include two sons, Marvin Jolly of Tawas, Mich., and Dwight Guster of Radcliffe, Ky.; eight daughters, Naressia Petty and Mia Knowles, both of Decatur, Marilyn Toney of Harvest, Velma Hawkins, Hazel Jolly and Lottie Jolly, all of Huntsville, Shirley Jackson of Montgomery and Laura Smith of Decatur, Ga.; two brothers, Egbert Peebles Jr. of Mooresville and Eddie Peebles of Chattanooga; one sister, Alberta Caudle of Triana; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Members of Richard Brinkley Lodge Number 30 will be pallbearers.
Elders and deacons of Mount Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church will be honorary pallbearers.
