Celebration of Life Service will be held for Mr. Egbert Peebles, 91 of Mooresville, AL on Friday, December 2, 2016, 12:00 Noon, at Mt. Zion C. P. Church in America, with the Reverend James O. Robinson, Officiating and burial in Oakland Cemetery. Mr. Egbert William Peebles was born January 25, 1925 to the late Egbert Peebles and Laura Miller Peebles. "Bud" as he was fondly known, confessed hope in Christ in July 1943 and joined Mt. Zion CPCA Church where he served as a Deacon and a member of the Senior Choir and Male Chorus. Deacon Peebles served our country in World War II (93rd Infantry Division) for two years, 11 months and 19 days (1943-1946). He was a Sharecropper and held several jobs until he retired from Wayne Farms. He was united in holy matrimony to Mrs. Classie Mae Wright Peebles for 63 years. Deacon Peebles answered God's call on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Huntsville Hospital. He was preceded in death by one step-son, Josh Russell; five sisters, Ida, Matilda, Rebecca, Katherine, Laura Mae and one brother, Eddie Peebles. He leaves to forever cherish his memory, a loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Classie Mae Wright Peebles; two children, Richard (Connie) Peebles, Harvest, AL; Sallie Peebles, Triana, AL; five grandchildren; one devoted grandson, Ralph Lanier; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Mt. Zion Deacons and Flower Attendants will be nieces.
