Mr. Stamps passed away on Monday, January 10, 2000, at the University Medical Center in Lebanon. He was a logger and sawmill worker. He was affiliated with the Church of God and served in World War ll.

He was born February 12, 1914, in Putnam County, he was the son of the late George W. Stamps and Elizabethh (Rector) Stamps. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alpha (Brown) Stamps; a brother Leonard Stamps; and two sisters, Thelma Bowman and Vola Swafford.

He is survived by two daughters, Wanda Walker of Livingston, and Louise Allen of Adolpus, KY; two sons, James C. Stamps, Lebanon, and Luther Stamps of Livingston; three sisters, Mazzell Little, Fannie Mae Miller, both of OH, and Lorene Thacker of Putnam Co.; two brothers, Clinton Stamps of OH, and Garland Stamps of Putnam Co.; 22 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchildren.
