Funeral Services Held for Him this Morning at the Howard Methodist Church
Mr. J. Gurr Hamilton, about sixty years of age, died at his home here at 9:30 o’clock Wednesday morning following a stroke of paralysis.
Mr. Hamilton was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Hamilton of Taylor county.
He lived in Howard practically all of his life prior to a few years ago at which time he moved to Butler. He was engaged, during his active life as farmer, carpenter and painter.
In early life Mr. Hamilton was married to Miss Jewel Jinks of Howard. She preceded him in death a number of years ago.
Only recently Mr. Hamilton was married to Mrs. J. B. Pennington of this city.
Survivors include besides his widow, three sisters, Mrs. C. M. Renfroe, Mrs. B. H. England and Mrs. W. M. Carlisle, and one brother, Mr. Flem Hamilton.
Funeral services for him were held this morning at ten o’clock at the Howard Methodist church. Rev. F. J. Gilbert, pastor of the church, officiated. Interment was in the Howard cemetery.
