Mrs. Vandiver

Mrs. Mable C. Vandiver, age 87, of Hemet, California, widow of the late Marvin Vandiver of California and the late Anderson Compton of Wing, Arkansas, died March 4, 1979, in a retirement village in Hemet, CA. She was the former Mable Caviness, daughter of Will and Elizabeth Campbell Caviness. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Genevieve Nicholson of Capitola, CA; a son, Bill Bob Compton, of Maplewood, LA; one grandson, two great-granddaughters, two sisters, Mrs. Oda Lofland of Briggsville, Mrs. Lola Wilson of Vivian, LA; three half-brothers, Roy and Neal half-brothers, Roy Caviness of Winslow, Arizona, James Caviness of Corning, Calif, and Neal Caviness of Louisville, Kentucky.

Funeral services were Friday at 2 p.m. in the Cornwell Chapel at Danville. The interment was at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Briggsville, AR.

Pall bearers were Billy Seth Lofland, Fred Burnett, Jim Caviness, Buford Keathley. D. N. Keathley, Charles E. Richison and Dr. Compton George.
