He married Lovinia Nash Sperry 1825 in Middlesex, Yates Co., NY

Children: John Ellison, Laura Ellen, Elizabeth, Lydia L., Mercy, Emma C., Annis "Ann", James Chester & Isaac Adams

CHESTER AND LAVINNIA must have been in ill health prior to 1850, for in 1850 the following Children were living with friends and reletives: EMMA C., ANNIS; ELIZABETH and LAURA ELLEN were Married.
They were in IN for a few years prior to going to MI/IN border.

Chester was in Middlesex, Yates Co., NY until 1835 then with his brothe Isaac who left Canaan, Wayne Co., OH, and settlled in the East part of GIlead in the fall of 1838.

He purchased the NE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 for $40.00 and the W 1/2 of the NE 1/4 for $80.00 in Gilead Township, section 11, Town 8, South, Range 7 West. This purchase was made 7 april, 1837. They were the third family to settle in the Township. The farm was on the South side of Adams Road in Branch County. Part of the farm was in Stuben Co., IN, They actually lived in Millgram Twp., Stuben Co., IN.
